Jubal Battisti and Sidra Bell have collaborated on this beautiful, unique 80-page collection of photographs that feature the works of the company and 24 spectacular contemporary dancers. The company has become known for unconventional, forward-looking works that push past dance's traditional vocabulary, venues, and boundaries. The vocabulary is risky, elegant, fantastical, and darkly romantic with original themes and larger than life characters. Through Battisti's lens the dances have gained multiple perspectives and vantage points. His eye offers a fresh, painterly, and intimate take on the choreography. His approach allows dancers to be human and natural which gives him the freedom to capture extravagant and timeless imagery.
